- Pole mount for best performance and optimum solar charging. Mount the light at the top end of pole to prevent pole from casting shadow onto solar cell. Partial shade can reduce effective solar charging by up to 75%. Avoid installation under roof edge or on the wall which, prone to partial shade during daytime
