In 1871, Claus Doscher created America's first candy cane in Cincinnati, Ohio. His process involved using real peppermint oil, cooking small batches in a copper kettle, and working with hands to roll, knead, stripe, and hook the canes. Doscher's hand crafted candy canes look, taste, and eat different. Each cane is hand spun and hooked for a unique shape and vibrant design, no two candy canes ever look exactly alike. Best of all, our process delivers our signature "brittle" texture that makes our canes easier to enjoy. Once you have experienced a Doscher's candy cane, you'll be hooked. For 150 years Doscher's has used the same recipe to ensure that each of our candy canes is perfect. We use the same copper kettles and time-honored techniques so that every candy cane is a one-of-a kind piece of confectionary art.
